Sensory bags may be rented from the Zoo's Guest Services office, located in the front plaza.
All other rental items are located just inside the Zoo’s front gate at Safari Supplies. Quantity is limited and can not be reserved. A valid ID is required for rental. Credit cards are accepted. Children are not permitted to ride ECVs with adults.
For the health and safety of our animals and yours, the Fort Worth Zoo does not allow pets on the grounds; however, service animals are permitted. Please check in at member services when you arrive at the Zoo. Please do not leave your pet(s) in your car during your visit to the Zoo. If we find an animal has been locked in a car, Fort Worth Zoo Security will notify proper authorities.
Texas law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guarantee the right of a person who is blind or has other disabilities, including post-traumatic stress disorder, to be accompanied by a trained service animal in all public places.
In Texas, the terms “assistance animal” and “service animal” mean “a canine that is specially trained or equipped to help a person with a disability.” The tasks that the service animal may perform must be directly related to the owner’s disability.
If a person’s disability is not apparent, employees may ask the person only whether the service animal is required because the person has a disability and what type of task or work the animal is trained to perform.
Per Texas law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), an animal that provides only comfort or emotional support is not considered a service animal.
The Fort Worth Zoo is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a daycare facility. This designation applies to all buildings and grounds within the Zoo’s boundaries. As such, no weapons, including (but not limited to) knives, clubs, or guns, may be brought into Zoo buildings or onto Zoo grounds.
Pursuant to Section 30.06 Penal Code (trespass by holder of a license to carry a concealed handgun) and Section 30.07 Penal Code (handgun licensing law), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun or with a handgun that is carried openly.
For the safety of park guests, the Zoo discourages large coolers and ice chests. Outside food and beverage are permitted, with the exception of straws, lids, glass containers and alcohol. If you choose to have a picnic lunch inside the Zoo, you may take your cooler back to your car and re-enter the Zoo as long as you have your hand stamped before exiting.
In accordance with the City of Fort Worth’s amendment to Ordinance 29.5, a smoking ban has been extended to all parks and other outdoor recreational areas, and as such, the Fort Worth Zoo is a smoke-free environment. The smoking ban applies to all areas in and around the park, sidewalks, benches, parking lots, plazas and previously designated smoking areas and includes e-cigarettes.
